It’s rainy season again here in Manila and I’m not exactly sure what to feel about it just yet. I do know what I feel good about though: for the first time since I was about 6, I finally had the sense to buy myself a raincoat.
Raincoats have always made me feel like a kid – and not in a good way. Maybe it’s because previous ones always entailed Hello Kitty literally saying hello on the pockets. 18 years later I found myself impulse-buying a raincoat for the sole reason that it reminded me of Harry Potter (see: lightning bolt print). Nothing’s changed, apparently. Maybe only a much-needed acceptance of my love for all things meant for the Junior market. I got it on sale too so that didn’t really help in terms of a clear reason not to buy it. Thinking logically in pros and cons doesn’t really do anything if the rebutting arguments are non-existent.
In any case, I feel prepared. Full disclosure: I don’t really bring umbrellas either. They make me feel rather old. And in a choice between feeling like Hermione Granger or Professor McGonagall, I’m pretty sure you and I will both choose Emma Watson.
