The number of crop tops in my closet is increasing at an alarming rate, but I still can’t seem to stop myself from purchasing more. Especially when they’re extra-cropped – my absolute weakness.

But so as not to overwhelm my bank account, nor put too much pressure on my stomach, I found a way to get creative instead. This outfit (and event, actually) was left undocumented by me but luckily, Stylebible was able to snap a photo and even write a little something about how to steal the style (thank you, guys! check out their new and improved site here. Which reminds me, my layout also needs some rearranging.)

Style tips aren’t usual offerings here in the blog but here’s one: a rather cheap way to ride the exposed belly trend – tie your top. See, this isn’t cropped at all (which I think is a bit obvious) all it took was one giant knot (and a few more adjustments every ten minutes. Note though that the number of adjustments directly correlates with your knotting skills. I obviously have very little. I blame my disinterest in camping trips).

There you go. Like Stylebible said, you can keep it classy by pairing it with a high-waist dainty skirt. If you’re feeling more adventurous, go ahead and show off that whole digestive area. I still need a few more thousand crunches to pull that off, but when my stomach is ready, I can assure you, it’ll be the only thing you’ll see.
