In a span of five minutes (a far cry from the usual 30-minute staring contest with the mirror despite the minimal number of pieces worn to figure out whether I feel ‘right’ in an outfit or not) I seemed to have unwittingly grabbed and worn something that completely matches my new haircut.
The new ‘do, in my eyes, is reminiscent of the 20s and the infamous flapper girls. Funnily, I’ve had this exact same haircut a few months ago but it never really struck me as anything other than “the hairstyle that cannot be tied.” Unlike Leonardo Di Caprio’s palace of a house though, I ended up in an area totally mismatched from the glamour and sheen of the top and the sleek heels (see: basketball hoops and abandoned buildings). I like it. Grit appeals to me somehow. Take that, Mr. Gatsby. It need not always be flamboyant-everything. Although, bottles upon bottles of champagne would be rather nice.
Anyway, sending you my love all the way from Michigan. I am planning on doing my own sort of 30-day happiness project while I’m taking a break from the world. (Well, “break” doesn’t ring entirely true. But I would like to fool myself into believing so.) Wish me luck!
