Quick outfit post before I head off to SoFA. Here’s what I wore to Preview’s Emerging Fashion Talent Awards. Was really looking forward to the event – was able to support my good friend Dan Duran AND I got inspired all over again. πŸ™‚ More about the event next time. πŸ˜‰

Mango F/W Fashion Show

Attended the Mango F/W Fashion Show last Sept. 7 at Resorts World. (late post, i know.) Watched the show with my fellow bloggers. Naturally, I had fun. πŸ™‚

Here are some outfits that were styled by the country’s best up-and-coming stylists – Myrr Lao To, Patrick Galang, Teej Nepomuceno, Bianca Santiago-Reinoso of Maven Magazine, and Anna Canlas of Preview Magazine. The styling was very impressive. Each stylist had a particular theme and all the guest stylists delivered. Kudos to Mango for getting them!

Here are some (okay, fine, a LOT) of pictures from the event.

Fold Canela, Eldzs Mejia and more fashionable ladies πŸ™‚ Remember Fold and Eldzs? They were my judges for a project here. πŸ™‚ Oh, saw them at Republiq for the Garage event right after.

Thank you so much to Mango and Ed Lorenzo of Connect Agencie for the invite! πŸ™‚

Moves Like Jagger

I am seriously addicted to this song.

A Legit Goody Girl

Guess who just signed a contract with Goody Prodycts Philippines? πŸ˜€

I am extremely happy to announce that Goody is now officially a sponsor of MonBeauMonde. I have loved Goody since I was a kid, no joke. Seeing the showroom actually reminded me (and Tippi) of our childhood and all the clips and ponytails we used to own (and eventually, lose. Hey, we were kids then, we didn’t know any better). Well, I’m sure a lot of Β us had a Goody phase when we were younger. Apparently, despite my current ‘mature’ state, my love for Goody products still remains. πŸ˜‰

So from now on, you’ll definitely be seeing a lot more of Goody in my blog (check their FB page here.). Thank you so much to Goody and to Jenna Sy for this. Feels amazing to be part of the Goody family <3

So excited for the coming events! Wait for em, dear readers. Hopefully, youll all be excited too! πŸ˜€

Stress of Finals Week

During the last day of finals week (about two weeks ago), I was extreeeemely stressed out to the point of me being a brat. 😐

I had so many things going on and I was really worried about not being able to finish my sewing projects. To de-stress, the girls and I took pictures. πŸ˜€

Polo, H&M; Scarf, courtesy of Mango; Sunglasses and boots, Forever21

Photographed by the gorge Patricia PrietoΒ (thank you, love, for always taking my outfit shots :D)

I remember screaming in frustration “My friends are always so pretty!!! my friends are so creative!!! my friends are so talented!!!” while heading out to our “shoot’s location” (aka the parking lot) because pano ba naman, it was finals week and Danika and Pat were all dressed up! :)) While the rest of us commoners looked like we had finals the whole month. hahaha so I was pressured to put on my Ruby Woo lipstick. πŸ˜‰ hahaha love you girls <3

Here are a couple more pics from that day. πŸ™‚

with clothev groupmates Mommy Jean and Inah πŸ™‚

with Sir Aan Pineda, my sewing professor. πŸ™‚

Friday was supposed to be my last day but I found myself still sewing til 5PM the following day. Sir Aan, I passed all my projects this time around!!! Im so proud of myself. haha πŸ™‚

School starts again next week. Yes, my two-week sem break is almost over. But Im not sad at all. Extremely excited to see the girls again. <3

Post again soon. Off to an important shoot. πŸ˜‰

Face Shop Presents: Kim Hyun Joong

Last Aug. 26, I was fortunate enough to attend the Face Shop press conference with brand ambassador/heartthrob Kim Hyun Joong. To those who aren’t die-hard fans, Kim is a South Korean actor/singer who’s part of the boyband SS501 and who was the lead in the popular TV Series Boys Over Flowers. He’s cute. πŸ˜‰

I was so excited when I got the invite because I’m such a Face Shop fan. I really use their products – makeup, nail polish, creams. (that reminds me, I need to go get myself their nude lipstick. mine ran out already.) Even my mom uses their make-up! (and their falsies. HAHA sorry mom, telling the world you use fake lashes πŸ˜€ I love you! Β πŸ™‚ ) I had to rush after class though to attend the press con. and Face Shop didn’t disappoint. πŸ˜‰

that’s Kim. such a cutie πŸ™‚

Okay so here’s the thing. Face Shop loves Kim Hyun Joong because 1) the guy’s pretty. (he’s not just handsome. He’s BEAUTIFUL.) and 2) he has such a huge heart. He’s been to Manila before to help raise money for public schools. Thanks to him, kids in the provinces now have more materials, better facilities and generally, a better learning environment.

This time around, Kim Hyun Joong auctioned off a pair of shorts that he used last time he was in the PI. The proceeds were given to Β his chosen charity – the women of Abiertas.

Those are the shorts. Anyway, given that it’s his pair, a lot of fans went gaga. The winning amount? PhP 100,000. Yep. 100K.

Insane? A bit, right? But wait til you hear the winner’s story. A 74-year old mom named Patria is a huge fan of Kim’s – to the point that she has a whole shrine dedicated to Kim in her house. Patria, with her daughter Maru, has been trying to get a picture with Kim in his tours/concerts all over the world. But she never got that picture. She usually just ended up with pics of her with Kim in the distant background – pretty much like tourists and buildings. Β A tragedy struck the family though when Maru, her daughter, had a stroke. She was so moved by her mom who took care of her the whole time til she recovered. In her story, she mentioned that she was so touched that her mom was taking care of her when it should’ve been the other way around. And since it’s her mom’s brithday, she was determined to win the shorts to make her mom happy. But that’s not the only thing her mom got.

Well, they BOTH got kisses from Kim, but her mom FINALLY got a picture with her idol. πŸ™‚

The moment was just so touching we were all close to tears. but to avoid crying like babies, we took pictures instead. HAHA

Finally met these gorgeous bloggers! l-r: Tin of Β Fashion Ate the World, Ivy of IvynismΒ and Pax of Drowning Equilibriums

with Pax, my bff for the day πŸ˜€ Was lucky enough to be this girl’s seatmate. There’s never a dull moment with her. πŸ™‚

btw, this is the product that Kim said he couldn’t live without – E’thym. True enough, it really hydrates the skin and gives you a certain glow. It came in handy too because my recent beach trip made my face really dry. Now, thanks to this Aura Cream, my skin isn’t that dry anymore. πŸ™‚ Thank you to Face Shop for this. πŸ™‚

Anyway, had to leave the event early though coz I had work after. 😐 but I had such a great time.Β Thank you so much to The Face Shop Philippines and to Lawrence Cua for the invite πŸ™‚

Prima Ballerina

here’s a quick outfit post of what I wore to the Face Shop event last Aug. 26 (major backlog, I know.)

Clothes: Fur poncho, Applerust; belt, Forever 21; Ballet flats, Ylla

Photos by Paul Mendoza

I was seriously thankful that I was in flats that day. Had so much to do I couldn’t have lasted the whole day in heels. Plus, these flats are way comfy! seriously. I am actually more of a heels kinda girl because I find flats more painful. I always get blisters at the back of my Β ankles with flats. πŸ™ But these Ylla flats are so comfortable you should definitely get a pair πŸ™‚

Anyway, blogging again soon. I’ve got work to do. πŸ˜‰

We β™‘ NAVA

Coz great minds dress alike, Pat, Tippi, Dan and I were all wearing at least one item from Nava one Friday. and no, we didn’t talk about it. Naturally, we had to take outfit shots. πŸ˜‰

and a stolen shot of me mid-laugh haha

Clothes: Cropped top, Nava; Pants, Topshop; Belt (necklace), H&M; Bag, Parfois; Flats, Ylla; necklaces, bazaar

Thank you to Tippi Sy for taking the photos πŸ™‚

Can I just say, I super adore this top. It’s so…me. HAHA (I love you, Dan! <3 lamoyaaaan)

and here are the pretty ladies who were all in Nava. So fashown, as usual. haha

First, the gorgeous Patricia Prieto (who looks good in ALL her pictures. UNFAIR). See that awesome necklace she’s wearing? Yep, that’s from Nava. πŸ™‚ It’s so nice I’m thinking of getting one for myself. πŸ˜€ (oh I know you can’t really see but look at her shoes! πŸ™‚ they’re gorge! πŸ™‚ )

Next is the awesome woman behind the lens, Tippi Sy. ( her pic was shot by Patricia Prieto) She’s a style guru at College Fashionista along with Pat and Nic (another beauty you have yet to meet). So check that out if you want style advice from SoFA students and students all over the world, literally. πŸ˜‰ Anyhoo, Tipper’s Nava piece is the top she wore. She actually cut it to give it a twist. My friends are so creative, it’s annoying. haha

and here is little Ms. Nava herself, Danika Navarro. She was wearing Nava from head to toe. πŸ˜€ Oh, and don’t you just love her new tan? I know I do. Β She got it while playing frisbee (yeah she’s awesome like that haha) and now she has that sun-kissed glow! So pretty!Β If only I looked this good bronze. haha

So, I think it shows that we all love Nava and I suggest you check Nava out stat!!! πŸ˜‰ Here are the branches:

oh and here’s a pic I got from Dan. It’s a sneak peek of the shoes they’re releasing. CAN’T WAIT!!! <3

anyway, I’ll go pack now. I’m off to Batangas with these three pretty ladies (plus more pretty people) tom! πŸ™‚

The Hell Week that Was

FINALS ARE OVER! I’M BACK!

Anyway, got soooo much posts (aka a LONG list of backl0gs) to share with you so expect lots and lots of posts. πŸ˜‰

Lemme start by sharing some pictures from finals week. Please take note, this is a HUGE step for me because I don’t like showing my haggard face to people. HAHA

So we had our finals in SoFA last week. It was crazy. There were too many projects (seriously), tests and ummmm, break downs. Yes, I tend to break down when I’m extremely stressed. 😐

Last week was also the no make-up, no-time-to-dress-nicely week. The peg according to my gorgeous friend, Nicole Ramos, was Pambahay dressing. So expect ginormous eyebags, bare faces and tired eyes from us (or rather, me).

Okay fine, I’ll just show you pics. no more excuses.

Okay, so last Wednesday, we had our finals for our Clothing Evolution class. we had to come up with a 10 piece collection inspired by a fusion of an era and a decade. I decided to merge Egyptian and 60s Mod. So there were a lot of shift dresses, mummified garments, triangles, and gold. I felt pressured doing the project because our professor, the awesome Fold Canela, invited a panel from the industry to judge our work. There were three awards given: Best Merchandise, Best Concept and Best Collection.

I totes forgot to take pics of my project. I told you, I was stressed. (If I do get the chance, I’ll take pics and share them with you). But but but but but but but, I won Best Concept!!!! I won it together with a friend, Wang-u, but there was only one ribbon. so we had to share. haha

Wang-u and I, best concept babies. Teehee so happy I got a ribbon πŸ˜€ Oh he fused Amazon and the 80s. πŸ™‚

Me with Tipay Caintic. She won the Best Merchandise award. This girl is just too talented! Here’s a pic of what she came up with:

She mixed Rococo and Punk. Super smart and creative. You can’t really see the details but those lace up garments had skulls! Hers was definitely my favorite. πŸ˜‰

A classmate, Mae, won Best Collection, but I don’t have a picture of her stuff either. πŸ™ *bad blogger*

My professor and judges. super star-studded! L-R: Designer/ProfessorΒ Fold Canela, stylist Eldzs Mejia, Status art director Soleil Ignacio, and Mega’s fashion editor, Angela Alarcon. Β Thank you so much for that ribbon! πŸ™‚

Had a mini-party after the “exhibit”/finals. Actually, we’ve been having mini-parties a lot this week. Here are some pics from the “party” we had in our Phil. Fashion class. Okay, this time I have pics of what I did for finals, and will share em with you in the next post. πŸ™‚

Two of my favorite people in school, my professors! πŸ™‚ Meet THE Danilo Franco and THE Loida Hunter. Sir Dan is my prof in Phil. Fashion and Fashion Illustration and Ms. Loids is my Pattern-Making professor. πŸ™‚

More favorite people, Tippi Sy and Patricia Prieto. Love these girls to bits! <3

Me with the Imelda of SoFA, Shen Jarlega. πŸ™‚

Pat, Mabel (another love of mine) and myself. πŸ™‚ As we were taking pictures…

…we realized something…we had matching outfits. HAHA

we totes looked like we were in a girl band Β with Pat as the lead singer just because she was wearing a shiny top. HAHA kidding. πŸ˜€ love you babe! πŸ™‚

oh and you wanna know what makes us happy? You know, what helps us get by despite all that stress.

A can of coke and awesome food. πŸ™‚

So there. Just wanted to share the crazy week I had. I’m off for two weeks and am going back to school on the 26th. Will definitely sleep during the break. πŸ˜‰

More posts to come. πŸ™‚

Damn, I missed blogging.

Feeling all Christmas-y

Don’t let your memory card fall into the handbrake area ever. Mine slipped through that tiny hole and it took me soooo long to get it out. Oh and the patience that was necessary! I was using my make up brushes and tweezers to get it. Anyhoo, that’s kinda why I havent been able to update you guys. I didn’t have pictures. πŸ™ That and my crazy tight sched. it’s finals week this week and i’m going craaaaazy.

So, I’ll just leave you with pictures of an outfit I wore during the long weekend – yes, I had to work then too. Felt the holiday season so I wore a sweater that reminded me of hot chocolate, mint and Christmas presents. haha πŸ™‚

Tank, Target; Leggings and belt, Forever 21; Sweater, Apt8; Bag, China; Shoes, Aldo

Photographed by Paul (thanks for taking my pics. πŸ™‚ )

To all the students, good luck with school! to the working class, good luck with your presentations and reports. πŸ™‚ and to me, well, good luck with passing everything on time. 😐 just want to get my finals over with. ONE LAST PUSH.

Til the next post πŸ˜‰
