We Shoot In Heels

Lemme share a quick post of the outfit I wore to last Thursday’s shoot under mentor Luis Espiritu. Fine, I’ll share what went down as well.Β  Had two shoots that day, one was for a menswear brand and the other for women’s bags. Again, can’t tell you what it was for yet.Β  I didn’t know that the shoot was at 8AM, so I woke up at 8, expecting the shoot to be at 9:30 again. So when I called my co-apprentice and found out that they were already there, I. freaked. out. Seriously. To the point that my breakfast – awesome spring rolls- were tucked hastily into a tiny tupperware and were devoured by me while driving. Tsk tsk. Felt so bad I was late. hayayay. I promise to be an early bird next time. The shoot took 13 hours. For real. and I was in heels the whole time.Β  Despite my aching feet, I had to suck it up. Ah, the price one pays to look good. haha

While on break, we took quick snaps of our nerdy outfits. Here’s mine. πŸ™‚

Polo,Vintage; Shorts, H&M; Belt, Forever21; Heels, Charles & Keith; Bag, China

and here’s a pic of my mentor, stylist Luis Espiritu

top, Eairth; printed patchwork pants, Al Devinco; scarf,Β  Zara;
glasses, Firma; shoes, Opening Ceremony

Pictures from Luis’ blog. if you want to see the rest of the team, check out Luis’ post here. πŸ™‚

Or better yet, follow Luis’ blog! I personally would like to hear what Luis has to say.Β  A person who’s been in the industry for 20 years definitely has a lot of insight. He’s such a nice and sweet guy to boot. <3Β  (remember I told you about him already in this post?) Can’t wait to do more shoots with him! πŸ™‚

It’s Not Too Late to Grab a Status ;)

Yep, you still have a few days left to get your copy of Status Magazine’s July issue.

Last May, a friend of mine, Kevin Pueblo, asked me if I was willing to be a part of Status Magazine’s editorial. Of course I was game! πŸ™‚ Ended up modeling Penshoppe’s Holiday 2011 collection with other amazing people, Valerie Chua, Bianca Ignacio, Toff Tiozon, Mark Lim and Miko Carreon. So here’s what went down during the shoot! πŸ™‚

hello interns Zoe and Vern (she’s also a blogger! πŸ˜‰ )

Say hello to Aljan Lorenzo, the man behind the awesome video πŸ™‚
L-R: Rosario, the editor-in-chief, Dan, the producer, Toff, a model, and Kevin, the intern/friend who contacted me πŸ™‚

L-R: Kyle, Toff, our photographer from Everywhere We Shoot, Miko, myself, Rosario and Dan

and here we are post-shoot. l-r: Dan, Alyssa, Miko, Toff, Val and Mark

Had so much fun! It was funny because truth be told, I am not the best pedestrian. So imagine how I felt during the shoot coz I had to cross the streets of Makati soooo many times WHILE trying to look good. Now I totally get how the models from ANTM feel. HAHA

Everyone I met was so nice. I even got shy because the EIC was the oneΒ  who kept fixing my jacket for me. the interns were also so fun to talk to. Hello Zoe, Vern and Kevin! and of course, our main man Dan who tookΒ  great care of his models. πŸ˜‰ Β  oh,Β  and the models! oh my goodness, most of them are still so young that at age 21 I felt like an oldie.Β  hahaha and here are the awesome results by the awesome team. πŸ™‚

L-R: Alyssa Lapid, Bianca Ignacio, Valerie Chua, Miko Carreon, Toff Tiozon, Mark Lim.

Pictures from Miko, Val and myself.

I cannot thank Status Magazine and Penshoppe enough. Thank you thank you thank you so much for this opportunity. πŸ™‚ thank you to Kevin, to the interns Zoe and Vern, to Dan, to Rosario, to Aljan and to the photographers Everywhere We Shoot. Thank you all so much <3

You have a few more days to support me HAHAΒ  and the magazine that has tons of other editorials and awesome content. So grab a copy now. πŸ™‚

Denim Fridays

Last week’s Fashion Fridays theme was denim inspired by Calvin Klein. (See, I update about our Fashion Fridays.) πŸ˜‰ I’m such a fan of denim so I was really happy that we were doing it as a theme. πŸ™‚ I opted for a denim button down topΒ  that was extremely casual but paired it with high waist trousers and my friend Rocky’s Byzantine project. :)) Here I go again with getting her projects. hahaha

Here are some outfit shots! πŸ™‚

Trousers, Vintage; Heels, Charles and Keith; Scarf, Rocky de Castro

Photos by Rocky de Castro

After my patternmaking midterms, my friends Rocky, Dan Con and I went to CBTL to chill since they had a long break and I, a cancelled shoot. Funny thing, we all ordered Chai Tea Lattes HAHA Can I just say that I’m extremely happy that I’ve found such amazing friends in SoFA. πŸ™‚ teehee. πŸ™‚Β  After the endless chikahan, Rocks and I left Dan to paint while we took vanity shots. HAHA well, we had to take outfit shots even if both of them weren’t in theme. BAD-ASS STUDENTS! hahaha

Here’s a pic of Dan doing homework πŸ™‚

I realized I have no picture of Rocky in my camera. Don’t worry though friends, you’re gonna see a lot more of her in the next few posts. πŸ˜‰

Went back to school, slept in the classroom coz I was extremely exhausted then prepped for dinner and dancing after with the girls. πŸ™‚ what a fun night. TGIF, indeed. πŸ˜‰

The Day I Met Louis Claparols

If you are an avid reader, you would know that I am currently taking the styling apprenticeship class under stylist/journalist Luis Espiritu. If not, well, now you do. πŸ˜‰ I never really thought I’d be a stylist but since that contest by Oxygen, I realized that I might as well try and see if I enjoy it.

So I had my first shoot under Luis last Monday at the Hyatt hotel. We did two shoots for a newspaper (I’ll show you pics when it’s finally released), the first for a designer and the second for an RTW brand. πŸ™‚

In all honesty, I think being an apprentice of Luis is really helpful to those who want to be in the industry. It teaches you not only the tricks of the trade but also discipline, humility and the value of hard work. Just to share, two of the most important lessons I’ve learned are one, no job is too small, and two, you have to leave whoever you think you are at home and embrace whatever role you’re given. πŸ™‚

Not only was I happy about meeting THE Luis Espiritu who was extremely down-to-earth and sweet, I was also extremely ecstatic that I got the chance to meet designer Louis Claparols. Oh my goodness. I was so kilig that I was skipping. Literally skipping. and he was soooo nice. He even seemed shy coz when he was talking to me he was just leaning against the wall while i was sitting and asking him about his lovelife. HAHAHA he was so nice. It was such a humbling experience (aside from it being such a HUGE fangirl moment). I really admire achievers who manage to stay grounded and kind – you know, the kind that’s genuine and not just for show. πŸ™‚

Since I am a fangirl, naturally I asked for a picture with him. HAHA here it is. πŸ™‚

and here’s another one with another humble yet accomplished personality, Bobby Carlos, creative director of MaxFactor. πŸ™‚

no outfit shot in this post. I look really harassed in the photos. haha lemme just give you the outfit deets. πŸ™‚

Clothes: Top, Pants and belt, Forever 21; Sheer cover up, Vintage; Heels (that aren’t in the pictures), Parfois.

Here’s to meeting more awesome people in the future! πŸ™‚

Macau 2011

Here’s a really quick entry of the Macau trip. We were there for half a day. Took a ferry from HK and spent probably an hour in immigration alone. Hayayay. Then, my mom totally forgets that we were part of a tour group so she gets a map, hands it to me and makes me do an impromptu itinerary. 😐 LUCKILY, I remembered the agency mentioning a tour in Macau. And I was able to rest. haha

Here are…outfit shots!

Yes, I wore slippers. Forgive me. But they were so comfy and my heels were not. 😐

Clothes: Top and pants, Vintage finds from mom’s closet; Slippers, Nike; Sunglasses, Forever 21; Necklace, House of Rocks by Rocky de Castro. Hope you like them girls and boys. Photo dump tomorrow. πŸ™‚

This is how we Travel

If I could reprimand myself for not updating the blog, I would. Or maybe I do I just dont want you guys to think I’m crazy. 😐

I’ve been so busy these past few weeks it’s crazy. It’s a bit unbelievable too actually since I’m usually the one who has a lot of days off. hahaΒ  I just got back from a 13 hour shoot under Luis Espiritu’s styling apprenticeship which I’ll talk about some other time (sometime soon, hopefully!) I’m dead tired. But IΒ  just really had to blog. I miss it. πŸ™‚

Remember I had a break a couple of weeks ago and went to HK for 4 days? Well here’s a sample of what I wore. I didn’t do much actually. Just rested and took a break from everything. πŸ™‚

Clothes: Top, vintage find from Mom’s closet; Skirt, Forever 21; Heels, H&M; Necklace, Parfois

and here’s a short photo dump of the HK trip. πŸ™‚

Β here are very few shots of things that caught my attention when I had my camera. I got so lazy to lug it around hence the lack of post-worthy pics. haha anyhoo, Macau pics up next. πŸ™‚

Head to the Nearest Promod!

Cause they are on SALE!!!

Last Thursday, I was invited to the preview sale of Promod, a French clothing brand brought to the Philippines by Vogue Concepts, Inc. I was super fortunate that Ms. Joanna invited me (Thank you!) as there were still items my size, lots of food for the shoppers, AND they were giving away GCs to lucky customers. too bad I didnt win! haha

If you’ve never been inside their store, let me tell you that Promod has a great selection of clothes from tops, pants, shorts, skirts, jackets, dresses, handbags, jewelry and shoes. I actually had a hard time looking around coz I, being the indecisive person that I am, had a hard time deciding where to look first. They had so many sale items to choose from! And the items were up to 50% off! Imagine that! You have no idea how excited I get when I see red tags and reduced price stickers, so naturally, I just kept getting stuff off the racks. Good thing my petite frame kept me from getting too much, as they didn’t have much XS items left. Else it’s my credit card bill that would end up suffering. Lemme share some pics from the event. πŸ™‚

My favorite section! they had so many gorgeous jackets and sweaters! You should definitely check out this rack! Look! Maxis!

Here’s Joanna picking out a lucky winner!

I’ll show you some of my favorite items. πŸ™‚

I met fellow blogger Lauren Dado that night. It was absolutely lovely talking to you about clothes and shoes we’re both dying to own. πŸ™‚ Here are the pretty ladies of Promod: Sam, Kat and Joanna πŸ™‚Β  It was nice seeing you girls again! And it was great to finally meet you, Joanna! We’ve been emailing for months now but I’ve never met her in person, til last Thursday!

Here’s a pic with me in it! πŸ™‚ and here’s a pic of my loot! teehee! bought a crochet vest and a cute girly sweater (with ribbons!) that I can’t wait to wear! πŸ™‚ Thank you so much to Promod, to Joanna and to the rest of the team for the invite and the goodies! I had so much fun chatting with you guys and shopping. Hope to see you again soon. πŸ™‚

Anyhoo, point is, you should also head to the nearest Promod store and grab tons of items! Im sure you’re gonna like A LOT. πŸ™‚ I have to go back and check out those accessories again. Maybe I’ll bump into you then! πŸ™‚

HURRY though! Their sale is only til the 31st of July!

Just for your quick reference, they have stores in: Trinoma, Greenbelt 5, Megamall Atrium, Ayala Center Cebu, SM Cebu Northwing, Robinsons Ermita, SM Southmall, Gateway, Abreeza Davao

Fashion Fridays: Color-Blocking

I don’t know if you noticed, but last semester we had this thing called Fashion Thursdays where everyone had to dress up according to a certain trend/designer/theme. This sem they changed it to Fashion Fridays, probably because there’s higher foot traffic during Fridays. So if it’s usually Casual Fridays for you, for us, it’s Fashown Fridays. =))

We were supposed to have our Color-Blocking theme 2 Fridays ago but since classes were suspended, we moved it back a week. πŸ™‚

I’m not sure if my outfit can be considered “color-blocked”. Still, we took outfit shots. hahaha

Photos taken by Tippy Sy. Thank you, love! <3

only my friends can make me laugh. <3

Look! This gorgeous necklace was made by my friend, Rocky de Castro. I bought this and an earring (yes, it’s a single earring, I’ll show you pics next time) and I super love them. I’ve been wearing them everyday since I got them last week. The earring is only Php150 and the necklace costs Php250. Super steal! So order one now! Check out her other colors here. πŸ™‚

Photos taken by Patricia Prieto. (and I got the next few pics from her blog too. teehee) Thank you, babe! <3

Clothes: Sweater, Forever21; Pants, Applerust; Shoes, Aldo; Necklace, Rocky de Castro

Wanna see what my friends wore? Here you go! πŸ™‚

the gorgeous Patricia Prieto doing her model tricks πŸ™‚ btw, grab a copy of this month’s issue of Sense & Style (Kryz is there too!) and Candy Magazine. Patricia’s featured! πŸ™‚ (grab a copy of Status Magazine too, I’m there. hahahaha)

Here’s pretty girl Danika Navarro having fun and being all girly. πŸ™‚Β  I wish I could look like that when I smile! haha Her store Nava is on sale so make sure you drop by!!!

and last but definitely NOT least, pretty girl Tippy Sy. She out-fierced us all with that “I whip my hair back & forth” look, dont ya think?.I suggest you check out her page and take a look at her Re-think entry. She’s so artistic! Good luck babe! hope they “Pick you”! πŸ˜€

That’s all folks. Color-blocked or not, we definitely had fun. πŸ™‚

Off to My Wedding

No, I am not getting married nor am I planning on getting married anytime soon.Β  Hell, I don’t even have a boyfriend yet. haha But, I already know what my pegs are for my future wedding dress. πŸ˜‰

A SoFA classmate of mine, Jowell, introduced me to Christian Dior’s Spring 2007 Couture collection. And the moment I saw the dresses I knew that these would be my pegs and inspiration for my wedding dress. πŸ™‚ No I am not excited, nor do I daydream about it. I just really appreciated the dresses in the collection and I felt like if I would wear a dress that beautiful, it would be for a very very very special event, like my wedding. πŸ™‚ (or, i could wear it to someone else’s wedding and steal the bride’s thunder. HAHAHA) kidding. πŸ™‚

Just to show you, here are some dresses that I really liked (and I mean REALLY LIKED) and would like to draw inspiration from in the future. πŸ™‚

I die.

John Galliano, you are insane.

If you want to see the rest of his collection, just go to Style.com or click here.
