SoFA, Baby!

Guess who’s back in school? Me! me! haha

I so wanna tell you about SoFA but I have no idea where to start! It’s soooo fun. (maybe that’s why it’s called sofa, coz it’s sofun. HAHA okay that was totally lame.)

Seriously though, it’s been really great so far. School’s never been this exciting. But I have to admit, I really can’t draw. And I don’t really know how to sew. So it’s gonna be quite challenging.

Oh actually it already is. Since I still go to work after school (yes, I always go home after midnight), sleep has been a rarity for me. I get a 4hour average everyday. Boo me. And I think I’m already getting sick. (Oh you know what, I already had my first absence last Friday. On my first day of patternmaking! Yikes!) I have to get used to this school+work thing or else I’d end up messing up both. πŸ™

Anyway, here are very few SoFA pics (all stolen. teehee) because I’m so smart, I brought my cam, but I left my memory card. hahaha Promise to always bring my SD and take lots and lots of vanity shots for you guys. πŸ™‚

Stole a picture of me from SoFA’s blog here haha This is what I wore on the first day of school. πŸ™‚ I’m in between my fellow CADster, Steph Verano, and fellow student Dan Duran πŸ™‚ btw, this is the day I first tried Bon Chon (we bought chicken for lunch) and I loved it. In fact, I loved it so much, I ate there again for dinner.

Yes, that pretty girl beside me is Kryz Uy (visit her blog here), another fellow CADster and fellow SoFA newbie. And no, we didn’t talk about our outfits. We wore this for Fashion Thursdays! Every Thursday there’s a school-wide outfit theme. Can you guess what last Thursday’s was? SHOUT PINK. Oh oh oh, see the SOFA sign? πŸ˜€ teehee. πŸ™‚

and here’s a bigger picture of my outfit taken by another fellow CADster, Honey Cortes (visit her blog here). Just so you know, there are 8 of us from CADs. πŸ˜€

I modelled for this collection and I really Β like theirΒ stuff. I might be greedy and get more stuff for myself. πŸ˜€ Visit πŸ™‚ Will do a feature on them soon. πŸ™‚

Just to show you, here’s the teaser for their collection:

More pictures of the clothes on their website. πŸ™‚

That’s all for now. πŸ™‚ More SoFA stories soon. πŸ™‚

Hello Dolly!

Now I’m finally posting pics from Chicago. πŸ™‚

Watched the play Hello Dolly last Dec. 28. It was amazing, and the star was fantastic! It was funny though coz we were among the very few umm young audience members. The rest were all senior citizens. haha Wore something casual with dressy pants so I was ready for the after-party. BUT. we got too tired, so we just went back to the hotel.

Also, I’d like you to meet my sister, Diane. πŸ™‚

and this is her with her boyfriend, Christian

I’m kidding. She’s not my sister. But everyone says we look alike. Do you agree? πŸ™‚

By the way, just so you know, this was the day I fell flat on the ice. No, not the snow, I meant the ice. I was carrying my HUGE leopard print bag and I stepped and next thing I knew I was lying flat on the ice. oh, and I landed on my elbow and it was PAINFUL. πŸ™ But it’s all better now. πŸ™‚

New Year’s

This post is a bit late. But I was so busy doing errands that I didn’t get a chance to update my blog.

Had a mini get-together with my family last January 2. Spent the day with the cousins and the relatives eating tons of food (and even more dessert coz my cousins all bake) and wearing a dress that was a wee bit too tiny for the weather. Seems like my choices are always questionable. Still, I loved my dress despite my aversion to the iron, aside from the fact that I was freezing in it but I had to pretend that I wasn’t. All for the sake of fashion. Here’s what I wore to welcome the hopefully awesome year ahead.

Dress (that I got for 10 bucks!) and belt from H&M; Shoes from Aldo; Bracelets from Forever21

Just so you know, this is my new favorite pair of shoes. πŸ˜€

Started the year wearing a fabulous dress and enjoying the company of the people I love most. I started the year right, didn’t I?

BIG THANK YOU: Dear reader (yes you), I would like to personally thank you for visiting my site. It now has 5,000 views! So thank you so much for reading my blog (or going through the pics, whichever you enjoy more). To those who follow the blog religiously, thank you so much. To those who are just blog hopping, thank you too and I hope you enjoy my site enough to keep coming back to it. I hope I’ve been able to entertain you enough and quench your thirst for fashion. Lanvin for H&M

Here’s my New Year’s gift to you: a feature on Lanvin for H&M. <3

Every year, Swedish retailer Hennes & Mauritz, more famously known as H&M, does a collaboration with a designer and releases the collections every November. Among the famous designers who’ve tried this are big shots Karl Lagerfield (designer for Chanel and Fendi),Β  Stella McCartney (creative director of Chloe and now Gucci – also famous for having Beatles’ Paul McCartney as a father) and Sonia Rykiel. This 2010, Lanvin’s big man, Alber Elbaz, follows suit.

According to Elbaz the collection is about colors, shapes and happy clothes. The collection includes not only frilly, girly dresses but shoes, bags and jewelry. Menswear is also included and designed by Lucas Ossendrijver. Prices range from $39.99 to $200+.

Pictures of the feature, the ads, the shoot from H&M Magazine and from the Lanvin X H&M fashion show

The collection was released last November in select stores in the US, and even if some bloggers have already posted pictures from the fashion show, I was still extremely excited to see the collection in person. I was in Chicago for the past 3 days tagging along with my friend and her boyfriend and my only request was to visit H&M because they don’t have the collection here in Michigan.

Unfortunately, when I talked to the sales associate from their Chicago flagship store, she said that they were sold out the very first day the collection was released. But since I’m such a shopaholic, I went to another H&M branch in Chicago to snag some $10 dresses that were on sale. Thanks to my urges to keep getting more clothes, I found a small rack with the Lanvin X H&M collection – a really small rack that contained returns from the flagship store. Yipee!!! So I got to see and try on some of the pieces! πŸ˜€

See the black dress below?

I saw it in the store πŸ™‚

That’s me in a Lanvin for H&M dress. Weee! Forgive the ugleh face and the blur and the pose. I wasn’t allowed to take pictures so I had to hide in the dressing room and drop a hanger to cover the clicking sound. HAHA

If you’re wondering if I got the dress, I didn’t. Coz I’m cheap. 😐 hahaha I love the dresses I tried on, but I don’t think I’m ready to spend $200 on a dress. A lot of people are, though. It’s funny coz the day the collection was released, H&M had a line system. Like they would only allow a person to stay 15 min in an area and buy two pieces from each category (i.e., clothes, accessories, etc.) Pretty intense, huh? But I see why. πŸ™‚

What do you think of the collection? πŸ˜€ Are you now an Alber Elbaz fan? :O

HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY! 2010 has been a roller coaster ride for me, with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Hopefully, 2011 will be a lot better. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Happy 2011 to all of you! Love you all πŸ™‚
